Clarity Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Everlight Digital ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Clarity app ("Clarity").

Information We Collect

Account information: Email and authentication identifier when you sign in with Apple, Google, or email/password.
Your content: Tasks, projects, areas, notes, meetings, habits, tags, recurrence rules, daily plans, voice recordings, and meeting transcripts you create.
Device data: Device model, iOS version, app version, and crash logs.
AI features: Text and audio you submit to Ask Claude, Brain Dump, AI summarization, task parsing, and meeting transcription is sent to our server, then to Anthropic's Claude API. Audio is transcribed on-device or via Apple Speech where possible. Transcripts and prompts are not retained after the response is returned.

How We Use Information

To sync your tasks, notes, and meetings across your devices
To generate AI responses, summaries, and parsed task structures you request
To send local and push notifications you have enabled
To diagnose crashes and improve the app
To deliver in-app purchases and manage your subscription

How We Share Information

Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions) — backend, sync, AI proxy
Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store, push notifications) — auth and delivery
Anthropic (Claude API, via our server) — AI responses
RevenueCat — subscription management

We do not sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Local Storage

Clarity stores your data locally on-device in SwiftData. Cloud sync is optional. If you sign out, local data remains on the device until you uninstall the app.

Data Retention

Deleted tasks, notes, and meetings are kept in Trash for 30 days, then permanently removed. You can delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. Account deletion removes your data from Firestore within 30 days; backups are purged within 90 days.

Your Rights

You can export your data from Settings > Export. EU and UK users have GDPR rights; California users have CCPA rights. Contact bpratt116@gmail.com to exercise them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Authentication tokens are stored in iOS Keychain. We do not ship the Anthropic API key in the iOS binary; AI requests are routed through a server proxy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app.
