Siri, Reminders and importing
Capture with Siri, organise in Chrona
Hands are busy, so you say “Hey Siri, remind me to book the dentist June 12 at 2pm”. Apple's Reminders takes that literally and creates a reminder whose title is the whole sentence, dates and all.
What Chrona does with it
When you import from Reminders, Chrona runs each title through the same parser the Quick Add bar uses. That reminder arrives as a task named Book the dentist, due June 12 at 2 PM — not as a task called “book the dentist June 12 at 2pm” with no due date.
Two safeguards:
- A real due date always wins. If Reminders already knows when the item is due, Chrona keeps that and does not second-guess it with the title.
- Nothing is lost to a bad parse. If stripping the dates would leave the title empty — a reminder called just “friday” — the original text is kept as-is.
Importing repeatedly is safe
Each imported item remembers where it came from, so importing again updates rather than duplicating. You will not end up with four copies of the same errand.
