Alerts and reminders

Typing an alert instead of hunting for the menu

Say the amount and the word “before”

Flight 6/12 at 6am alert 2 hours before
Standup tomorrow at 9am alert 15 min before

Minutes, hours and days all work. The alert is attached to the event itself and handed to your calendar, so it fires the same way every other calendar alert on your device does — through iOS notifications, on your watch, and in any other calendar app showing the same event.

Why it is worded that way

“alert 30 min before” reads as a lead time, which is how people actually think about reminders: not “notify me at 8:45” but “give me fifteen minutes' warning”. It also means moving the event moves the alert with it, automatically.
